This is a ritual for yourself care when we live in the hour fast paced world. It’s sometimes easy to forget ourselves. Maybe it’s on one hand in your work week with a long hot bath, reading a book, Meditation, or it could be just setting aside some time to put on yourself, pyjamas and watch a movie without being interrupted.

GIVE BACK

Ticket back to other people who need help and support is a great mood booster. For example, you could give one afternoon a week to a charity shop, helping a food bank whatever floats your boat, but by giving back your mood will improve.

REFLECT

give yourself time to reflect about what’s been happening in your week, month or year. How are you doing? What has worked well for you? Are you happier than you were previously? Remember when you are reflecting try not to judge yourself harshly, you may want to write down your thoughts in a journal.

BODY

Take care of your body as we get older, our body needs looking after a little bit more, have you been to the doctors recently? Do you need a check up? Have you been to the dentist and opticians? This is a good place to start looking after your body, also look at what you are eating.

GRUDGES

are you holding onto grudges from the past do you need to let it go?   Sometimes letting a grudge go, it’s easier said than done however all it is doing is holding onto negative thoughts and feelings.

look at the relationship that you have, are you harbouring any resentment possibly you falling out with somebody I don’t want to make up but you’re still angry with them. Find an outlet to let go of that hurt feeling it could be writing a letter to them, but not sending it then you can really let your feelings out.

Trip

lastly, we will finish with a trip, it doesn’t have to be a two week trip. It could just be a day trip whatever you can afford and whatever fits in with your life, but it is important to do something for yourself, something to look forward too.
